Meet Your Co-Conspirator
I’m Court (she/they)! The owner and founder of The Therapy Riot. I’m a clinical social worker based in Houston, TX.
I value empowerment, equity, safety, and authenticity in all aspects of my practice. I believe in a non-judgemental, multi-systems, transparent approach to mental health work built through legitimate connection with you as a client. I believe we heal through relationships, and I want to get to know you and your goals to help you through a life you are trying to build for yourself. I think that clinicians who do not lead with transparency, integrity, and a moral code with foundations in the code of ethics are, frankly, stupid.
I graduated from Baylor University with an undergraduate degree majoring in Social Work & Pre-Law, and minoring in Sociology. I went on to graduate again from Baylor University, with a Master’s Degree in Social Work on the Clinical Track, specializing in Adolescent Trauma. I have worked in the residential treatment, detention/juvenile probation, acute behavioral health, and retreat work in different cities in Texas. Through my experiences in these places, I have realized how colonized, racist, sexist, and homophobic/transphobic mental health is in Texas and even nationally. As a queer person, and a member of greater society, I take my constant self-reflection on my privilege seriously, and am open about continuously learning on behalf of my clients.
I have worked with all genders aged 10-60, and my ideal client is a young adult who is searching on how to heal from trauma and feels stuck in a life that has potential. If you feel lost and angry, I am most definitely the clinician for you. I am certified in EMDR, and am trained in DBT, CBT, EFFT, attachment trauma, systems theory, SFT, and psychodynamic model. All of that is fancy jargon that basically means I have helped different kinds of people, and enjoy trainings that allow me to help different types of people ethically.
If you are a human that wants to heal on their own terms, fill out our contact form and we can see if we are a good fit for one another. I vow to lead with honesty and integrity, and wish you well in life.
